Ryan Reynolds and Mara Soriano

Ryan Reynolds appeals to his fans to help him find the lost teddy bear of a Pinay named Mara Soriano.

Have you ever heard someone say that Canadians are so nice because of their good manners and helpful nature?

Well, Ryan Reynolds is proving just that after he tweeted to his 16.2 million followers to help him find a lost teddy bear owned by a Pinay named Mara Soriano.

According to a report made by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC), the said teddy bear is precious to Mara because it contained a recording of her late mother saying, “I love you, I'm proud of you, I'll always be with you.”

She told reporters, “It's the last thing I have of hers. It has her voice on it. And when you miss someone that much, sometimes you need to hear that.”

Since giving out her fliers, her appeal has reached the Canadian actor who quote-tweeted a photo of the bear and said, “Vancouver: $5,000 to anyone who returns this bear to Mara. Zero questions asked.

“I think we all need this bear to come home.”

On July 28, Mara said that the bear was stolen along with her other stuff when she was moving into a new apartment in Vancouver, Canada last Friday.

She even tweeted the actual footage of the theft that took place in a uHaul cabin after she had dropped her bag.

While other celebrities have joined in on the search, Mara said that Build-a-bear and Herschel have contacted her to replace the items that were stolen.

She added, “I know it won't be the same bear that my mom made with her own hands, but now it'll remind me of her and the time the world came together for us for a few days.”

Update as of July 30, 2020

On July 29, 2020, Vancouver, British Columbia Time, Mara Soriano's lost teddy bear has found its way home!

The great news was revealed by the actor on Wednesday who tweeted, “In happier news… thank you, everyone, who searched high and low. “To the person who took the bear, thanks for keeping it safe. Vancouver is awesome. #FoundMarasBear.”

The lost toy, according to Mara, was returned by two “kind samaritans” without a single scratch and that the voice of her mother is still intact.
